Message from Chairman

Welcome to the department of sociology at Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

It is an honor, pleasure and excitement to serve as a faculty member as well as the chairperson of the esteemed department. Our faculty members are committed to provide the best education in sociology. Despite some limitations in terms of logistic support and accommodation, our faculties try their level best to prepare our students to pursue their professional career in different fields both national and international, equipped with sociological knowledge. Along with the graduate and undergraduate program, the department is currently offering Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) Degrees. The Department always plays a vital role within the University and beyond. Our department is well-known for the timely completion of semesters and student-friendly environment. Along with the combined efforts of faculties, administrative staffs and students, I do believe that the department will reach the peak of academic excellence in coming days.
