Promotion

All promotion will be yearly basis. Minimum required GPA / CGPA is 2.00 for promotion from 1st year to 2nd year. For promotion from 2nd year through 4th year a student shall require to earn minimum CGPA of 2.25. All promotion from first year to fourth year shall be yearly basis. A student will not be promoted to the next year if she/he fails to appear in any semester final examination (either 1st or 2nd Semester of a year) even she/he has requisite CGPA (2.00/2.25) for promotion. In such cases the student shall have to get re-admission with the same semester of the next available batch.

Improvement of grades:

A student earning ‘F’ grade in any theoretical /practical courses of any semester shall be required to improve ‘F’ grade(s) with the next available two consecutive batches. Students fail to improve the ‘F’ grade(s) within six academic years since admission thereafter shall be considered as failed to earn the degree.

Students earning the letter grade of less than ‘B’ (less than GP 3.00) in any theoretical /practical course may choose to improve the grade by appearing at the semester final examination with the next available batch. If the grade point in improvement is lower than the earlier, the earlier one shall stand. A student shall have improvement opportunity once for each course.

For improving the grade and appearing at the examination, a student shall have to pay fees two (2) times of the normal examination fee for each course.

Improvement shall be allowed for theoretical and practical courses only. However, in case of ‘F’ grade in viva-voce, a student may get the chance to improve grade through appearing at the viva voce of the next available batch. No improvement shall be allowed in continuous assessment (in such cases earlier marks will stand).

Degree requirements

For the Bachelor degree, each student requires to:

a)    Earn required number of total credit points of the batch successfully;

b)    Earn a minimum CGPA of 2.25 on scale of 4.

If a student fails to earn required total credit points within six academic years since admission s/he will be dropped out from the programme and will no more be allowed to continue her/his studentship with other students.

There will be 66 courses (46 theoretical, 16 practical and 4 viva-voce), carrying a total 3550 marks, 137 credits (32 credits for practical) and 2415 credit hours shall be compulsory for each student. Semester wise distribution of the total courses, marks, credits and credit hours will be as follows.
